artistic design for loosdorf

With the reconstruction of the Hanslburg, a hardly known artificial ruin in the forest not far from Loosdorf, in 2001 Tassilo Blittersdorff began an interaction with the residents of Loosdorf by placing a miniaturised variation as a 'play castle' in the centre of the community, so creating an awareness for the building. The small Hanslburg is adorned with many found items collected by Blittersdorf in the village. Blittersdorf has now introduced another project in close proximity to this, at the other side of the road through the village, where local residents are also involved. A large format photographic work entitled 'Der Ort Findet Sich' (The Community Finds Itself) is installed on a wall, consisting of 130 aluminium sheets. The images show all of the buildings in Loosdorf, whereby the arrangement of the panels roughly corresponds to the position of the homes and wine cellars in the village. The photographs provide a special view of the community as both individual depictions and, all together, as a diagram of the village. A corresponding piece was created on a second wall: all of the parts of the wall made of found stones stemming from the houses of Loosdorf, and each brick bears the number of the house from which it was donated. The result is another portrait that supplements the first with cultural and historical architecture allusions.
