Information

Several webbed tarpaulins encircle the space with a repeating pattern of stripes half way up the wall. The stripes follow an abstraction of folds, suggesting an attractive curtain that also provides the acoustic panels with a practical function.

---

i was already thinking about a curtain while the commission was being awarded to provide an artistic design for the local council hall in kilb, and then, later, this not in fabric but still an abstract fall of cloth for the interior, printed on netting by the same firm whose digital imagery of what was originally a painting of mountains covers their façade. an outdoor view for outdoors so decide on an interior view for inside, and mount decorative elements in the hall while hanging the acoustic panelling so that it can be used for the most varied of functions. as the escape routes have to be kept free it cannot be employed as a fabric wall running from ceiling to floor for the full length, finish the recurring coloured stripes in a single repeating pattern at half-height as a continuation of the stage area and a conceptual translation of printed sheeting into stitched fabric, a space in its own right. a continuation of the vertical lines in the upper part of the textile membrane to be realised in the lower part of the architecture not in the form of a mural drawn with crayons but, to exploit the full budget available for the production and installation of the project, offer to sell the state government of lower austria two oil paintings.
