Information

The seven oil tempera images on the subject 'At the Holy Wedding' were created in the studio and glued onto specially mounted panels to integrate them into the wall. Each painting is 160cm x 85cm. Positioned 12cm apart, they have an overall width of over six metres.

For this project I have taken up and completed the theme of "The Holy Wedding" which preoccupied me over a period of ten years. This notion can be traced in ever-different variations throughout all cultures, from the eastern Asian wisdoms to western alchemy. To me it symbolizes the union and also transcension and reconciliation of oppositions (such as male vs. female, geometric vs. organic, mind vs. body) in a harmonious whole. An attempt to obtain a non-verbal philosophy. The rigid geometry of verticality transforms the organic structure, yet also buttresses it. The latter, in turn, is broken up and transformed. The grouping of the elements around a vertical axis is characteristic of any higher life. The later, in turn, is broken up and transformed. The grouping of the elements around a vertical axis is characteristic of any higher life. The order of corporeality, or rather its reconstruction, corresponds, by furter extension, to the tasks of nursing.
The surface on the west wall is structured by seven single paintings that I created in my studio using oil and tempera. The paintings have been mounted on boards and integrated into the wall. Each painting measures 160 x 85 cm so that with a spacing of 12 cm between each painting the whole installation is more than six meters wide.
