Near me Near me

Heidi Schatzl

Lives and works in Vienna, where she is working at the interface between space, art and research. Since 2005, she has been conducting artistic field research on spatial practices, on National Socialist urbanism or currently on the expropriation of modernist architecture. Narrative set pieces occupy a key position in her research and exhibition interests, as does the memory of archives, whose relevance to the present the artist examines in her works. In 2014 she received the Margarete Schütte Lihotzky Project Scholarship, in 2020 the State Scholarship for Fine Arts.
